Arquitetura para todos ou Arquitetura como nós?

E se a Arquitetura pudesse incorporar a inteligência que rege o comportamento dos corpos e a eficiência dos sistemas vivos? E a criatura que vive entre metades, entre o fabricado e o inato?

E se a arquitetura fosse uma Criatura?

Bem, certamente haveriam vários tipos de comportamentos, haveriam interações com extensões de contexto e com a ecologia. Para ser uma criatura não poderia ser fácil. Imagine ser único, de um gênero, sem amigos. Resgatando Frankenstein e sua criatura:

‘We are unfashioned creatures, but half made up, if one wiser, better, dearer than ourselves…’

Para ser uma Criatura, se deduz que haveriam trocas com organismos naturais. Se nossa Criatura arquitetônica reagisse a um ambiente como São Paulo certamente suas peles teriam de aprender não apenas a misturar, mas também a inflamar e viver a patologia da cidade. From Skin to Flesh, é experimentação arquitetônica, pele inflamada, processos antissépticos, cortes urbanos, evacuação flúida e vazio. É feito da investigação crua, materiais que propôem como um corte aberto deixando-nos ver o interior dos orgãos. Talvez não seja a arquitetura para todos, mas certamente a arquitetura como nós, misturada e viva.

From Skin to Flesh vem à vida como um zombi vivo depois de uma curta floração na costa urbana. Idade, status de relacionamento e endereço residencial estão todos na conta do facebook. Criatura nascida de pais arquitetos, ele suportou a novidade de ser um híbrido entre proto-arquitetura e febre tropical. É a vida divertida do experimento, da interatividade e ás vezes da participação. Outra criatura única, Frankenstein, homenageia From Skin:

‘We are unfashioned creatures, but half made up, if one wiser, better, dearer than ourselves…’

Uma vez inacabado o negócio do processo de pura criação de um cientistista urbano lunático reagiu ao florescimento da poluição diária e cacofonia da cidade de São Paulo. A pele ao apodrecer será a melhor façanha. Certamente mudou. Não é arquitetura, mas metade da raça que ele abraçou, suja e da carícia diária das aventuras urbanas e suor tropical. Apodrecendo a carne, ele deu a sua pele uma construção inacabada um casaco novo e exclusivo. A laje de concreto também prestou homenagem a ele: From Skin foi invenenado ao sucumbir à sua necessidade de interagir . Acho que sendo um zumbi, que vive entre o fabricado e o inato, é uma qualidade arquitetônica nos dias de hoje. Deus sabe porque.

"The cult “green building” of the moment is Harmonia 57, an office block built in São Paolo three years ago by Triptyque, four French-Brazilian architects who have set up practice in Brazil. Its walls are built of porous concrete, pitted so that plants grow into the surface, watered by mist collected in an ingenious system of pipes. “It is a building that breathes and sweats,” say its creators.(...)
To idealistic architectural students, the glass skyscrapers in London or Shanghai are already anachronistic. Their heroes are writers, artists, and environmentalists – or architects such as Triptyque, François or Peter Zumthor, whose work begins and ends with nature."

Na sexta feira desta semana, o nosso escritório participará de uma exposição no Garden Museum de Londres. A exposição trata de contar a história das primeiras cidades jardins fazendo relação com o traçado das cidades do século 20. A urgência em promover espaços urbanos e aquitetura para o cidadão contemporâneo que se preocupa com a relação entre natureza e cidade motivou o museu a escolher no mundo projetos e iniciativas inovadoras.

Our office will exhibit the next Friday of this week at the Garden Museum of London. The exhibition will tell the story of the very first ‘garden cities’ and looks at their legacy in the town planning of the 20th century. It essays to trace the impact of the Second World War and the wild flower meadows that sprang up in former bomb sites. The urgency on promoting architecture and urban spaces of quality from a contemporary citizen that cares with the relation between the nature and the city had motivated the museum to chose visionary projects and actions around the world.

Le vendredi prochain notre studio participera à une exposition au musée « Garden Museum » de London. L´exposition essai de raconter l´histoire des premières « cités-jardins » et ces relations avec les traces de l´urbanisme du 20^ème siècle. L´urgence en crée des espaces urbains et architectoniques de qualité pour le citoyen contemporain (qui se demande de la relation entre l´artifice et la nature), ce qui a motivé le musée à choisir des projets dans le monde. Notre studio va y participer avec le projet Harmonia.

Nosso studio irá dar conferencia na Semana de Design de Helsinki. A palestra acontecerá na “Old Costums Warehouse Katajanokalaituri 5”, em Helsinki no dia 14 de setembro deste ano. Esta conferencia, denominada:conferencia honoraria annual, celebra o legado de Eero Saarinen convidando jovens arquitetos com reconhecimento internacional para falar sobre seus trabalhos, sua carreira e suas influencias. A conferencia é escolhida com colaboração com o conferencista anterior. O conferencista honorário de 2010 foi Shoguei Shigematsu do escritório de Arquitetura OMA*AMO. Este ano a conferencista honorária será Carolina Bueno sócia do nosso estúdio.

Our studio will give a lecture at the Old Customs Warehouse Katajanokanlaituri 5, in Helsinki. The annual honorary lecture celebrates Eero Saarinen´s legacy as a forward looking innovator by inviting young practicing architects with international recognition to speak about their work, career and influences. The lecturer is selected in collaboration with the previous lecturer. The honorary lecturer in 2010 was Shohei Shigematsu / OMA*AMO. This year´s honorary lecturer is architect Carolina Bueno / Triptyque Architecture.

Notre studio donnera une conférence a la semaine de Design de Helsinki. La conférence aura lieu au « Old Costums Warehouse Katajanokalaituri, 5, Helsinki, le 14 septembre de cette année. Triptyque Waterfront Center at Belgrado.

Nós concebemos um projeto em Belgrado na Sérvia. Nossa intenção foi integrar o rio Danubio com a cidade. Para isto as linhas principais do projeto se basearam na continuidade da paisagem enfatizando as vistas do prédio, de maneira que ele se configurasse como marco ou escultura urbana na cidade. O projeto, chamado de Centro das Águas, mais do que um edificio ou escultura urbana se propoe a ser uma continuidade do espaço público. A intenção é que as pessoas da cidade possam valorizar a água, elemento que é tão importante na localidade: quer congelada no inverno ou quer resfriando a cidade no verão.

We conceived the Beton Hala Waterfront Center as a water mirror. Our intention was to bring the
river to the city in order to create a physical mix between the latter and the water. There is conti
nuity in the landscape, emphasizing the views. The Waterfront Center we designed is more than a building, it is a urban place. The wheel uses the energy coming from the river’s currents and the wind to bring water up the top of the building. The Water Mirror Center is an iconic urban building incorporating these concerns. The Water on the top of the building is treated; it comes from the wheel, and then runs down the wall to finally go back to the river, once purified. In the summer, the water will cool the building down, while in the winter, once frozen, it will create an igloo effect and preserve the heat on it.

Nous avons conçu un projet à Belgrade en Serbie. Notre intention était d'intégrer le Danube avec la ville. Ce projet est basé sur la continuité de la vue du paysage et de l'immeuble, afin qu'il soit configuré comme un cadre d'une sculpture urbaine de la ville. Le projet, appelé le Centre de l'eau, est censé être une continuité de l'espace public. L'intention est que les habitans de la ville puissent apprécier l'eau de la ville, un élément qui est si important dans la localisation: soit gelé en hiver ou soit element de rafraîchissement de la ville en été.

Este ano, o livro se foca no debate da relação entre urbanismo e obras de Arquitetura. A obra "Fidalga" fecha o livro, que é composto por 46 projetos escolhidos para sua composição.

Our office is inside the "Optimistic Architecture Yearbook 2010 France"! The yearbook is published by French Touch. This year, the book is focused with the relation between urbanism and architecture. Our architecture work "Fidalga" is one of the 46 projetcs chosen to compose the book.

No Instituto Cultural Inhotim, em Minas Gerais o escritório pensou em quatro pontos de apoio – a oca, o cubo a omeleteria e a tree walk e um espaço de exposições - localizados em pontos estratégicos do parque. Jorge Luis Borges, Gael Garcia e o realismo fantástico foram revisitados de modo a oferecer uma experiência sensível entre o artificial e o natural ao visitante.

The Cultural Institute o Inhotim, based in Minas Gerais (Brazil) is one of the new places devoted to contemporary art. Triptyque concieved four spaces for there: « Oca », « Cube » and « Omelete » and « Tree Walk » and an Exhibition Hall, bouth located in strategic places of the Institute. The south american writers Jorge Luis Borges, Gael Garcia and the « Fantastic Realism » were « visited » for the concept formulation of these projects, for proposing a sensorial experience between the natural and the artificial.

Le Centre Culturel d’Inhotim, situé dans le Minas Gerais au Brésil, est l’un des nouveaux hauts lieux de l’art contemporain. Notre Studio a conçu cinq espaces: « Oca », « Cube » et « Omelete », « Tree Walk » et "Espace pour Exposition". Nous avons « visité » les écrivains Sud-Américains Jorge Luis Borges, Gael Garcia, ainsi que le Réalisme fantastique, pour offrir aux visiteurs une expérience sensorielle entre Naturel et Artificiel…

O museu convida pessoas para participar do projeto 4x 1: um curso de curta duração que busca mostrar diferentes produções da arquitetura brasileira contemporânea. Triptyque vai realizar palestra no dia 23!

The MAM, museum of modern art based in Ibirapuera Park (São Paulo, Brazil) is always looking for new ways of connecting people with the art, design and architectures codes. The museum is inviting people to participate at the "Project 4 x 1" in São Paulo: a short term course that aims to show different production of contemporary Brazilian architecture. Triptyque will deliver a lecture at the 23th July in this project.

Durante as últimas semanas o estúdio esteve no programa de televisão nacional, do canal GNT. A entrevista de dois blocos buscou mostrar os trabalhos e os processos de criação realizados no studio de São Paulo. São Paulo é uma das mais novas capitais em busca de trabalhos atrelados aos conceitos de vanguarda como sociabilidade e sustentabilidade e Triptyque foi mostrado como um gente ativo neste processo de abertura.

On the past few weeks, Triptyque studio was at the cult brazilian television program "Nos Trinques" - at GNT brazilian channel. The interview of two blocks was seeking to show part of the creation process of the Studio, and also the importance of the young architect’s studio on creating new esthetics for Sao Paulo city. Sao Paulo is now known as one of the new betting city for contemporary architecture because of the the hight demand of works with vanguard concepts as sustainability and sociability, and Triptyque is an active agent in this opening process.

Nos Trinques" - de GNT TV: l'entretien en deux parties montre une partie du processus de création du Studio ainsi que l'importance de ce groupe de jeunes architectes dans la création de nouvelles esthétiques pour la ville de Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo est désormais connue comme l´une des villes en demande de nouveaux travaux d 'architecture et urbanisme innovants prenant en compte la durabilité et l´humanité. Triptyque participates in a poster exhibition organized by a charity group formed by several Japanese citizens living in Oslo. This action aims at raising donations to support Northeast Japan. 100 different posters of a 100 creative artists have been made, and will be exhibited and sold to raise money for charity.

The project for Osny’s multimedia library was designed based on two principles: the relation between town and architecture, and the combination of technical and functional aspects.

The building is not just the still result of its structure, but the expression of the dynamics of its water systems, which irrigate it and bring it to life. Not just a mere building any longer, the media library becomes an urban work of art, a public fountain show enjoyable by all. The water usage allows fantasy and the contemporary to emerge, lending architecture a soft, natural feeling. It is a symbol of the fluid way information travels in our time, a tribute to the French tradition of gardens and fountains which anchors the library in history, an urban complex that forms a pleasant and beautiful courtyard. The water doesn’t just play a scenic role, it also has a functional use. The choice of a temperature-based water recycling system which wraps the whole library – roof, pond and water curtains – allows for the heating or cooling of the building depending on the season. Conceived as a hall, the library privileges spatial fluidity and allows for future layout changes.

As a knowledge device for the neighborhood, space of great transparency, the media library was thought to be an extension of the public space, open and easily accessible.

Le projet de la médiathèque d’Osny a été conçu selon deux principes : le rapport architecture et ville et l’alliance des aspects techniques et fonctionnels. Le bâtiment n’est pas le résultat immobile de sa structure, mais l’expression dynamique de systèmes hydriques qui irriguent le bâtiment et lui donnent vie. La médiathèque n’est plus un simple bâtiment, elle devient une pièce d’art urbain, une fontaine publique, appréciée de tous. Les jeux d’eau permettent d’allier la fantaisie au contemporain, de conférer à l’architecture douceur et naturel. Elle est un symbole de la fluidité de l’information de notre époque, un hommage à la tradition française du jardin et des fontaines ancrant la médiathèque dans l’histoire, un apparat urbain qui forme un parvis agréable et beau. L’eau n’a pas qu’un rôle scénographique, mais également un usage fonctionnel. Le choix d’une circulation d’eau tempérée et recyclée en toiture, en rideau d’eau et en bassin, permet selon la saison, de refroidir ou réchauffer le bâtiment. Le bâtiment est conçu telle une halle, privilégiant la fluidité spatiale et l’évolutivité des espaces intérieurs pour des adaptations futures.

Outil de savoir de proximité, espace d’une grande transparence, la médiathèque a été imaginée comme le prolongement de l’espace public, ouverte et facilement accessible.

Located in a neighbourhood under continuous transformation, the project – a residential building – fits within a context marked by spectacular disruptions of scales and height limits, displaying a chaotic and discontinuous urban fabric cutting the panoramic view offered by the building.

Our proposal feeds on the complexity of the place, reformulating the traditional model of the Paulista residence. The fragmentation of the building’s body into three pieces enables a better integration between a recreational area and the vertical and horizontal circulation spaces, and allows the creation of a small square connecting the building with the urban space. The apartments are overlaid on a variation of typologies. The non-modular openings are not aligned, giving the building its main feature, marked by the use of simple and urban materials. Access to the apartments is individualized. The existence of one apartment per floor privileges 360° views, and each unit possesses one remarkable architectural feature: double volume, terrace, patio, duplex penthouse or ground garden. Upon delivery, the plan is left open, offering free internal partitioning and fluid distribution of modular blocks.

Situé dans un quartier en constante transformation, le projet – une tour d’habitation – s’inscrit dans un contexte caractérisé par des spectaculaires ruptures d’échelles et de gabarits, dans lequel on observe un tissu urbain chaotique et discontinu découpant la vue panoramique offerte par le bâtiment. Notre proposition se nourrit de la complexité du lieu, reformulant le modèle traditionnel de l’immeuble d’habitation pauliste. La fragmentation du corps du bâtiment en trois parties s’effectue au bénéfice de l’intégration d’une aire de loisir aux circulations verticales et horizontales, et la création d’une petite place permettant la jonction avec l’espace urbain. Les unités d’habitations sont superposées selon une variation des typologies. Les ouvertures non modulaires ne sont pas alignées et donnent au bâtiment son trait principal, marqué par l’emploi de matériaux simples et urbains. L’accès des appartements est individualisé. Il y a un appartement par étage, privilégiant les vues à 360°, et chaque logement possède un élément architectural remarquable : volume double, terrasse, patio, duplex/penthouse ou rez-de-jardin. A la livraison, le plan est laissé libre, offrant une liberté de cloisonnement interne et une distribution de blocs modulaires fluide.

The Pipelight lighting system was created in the image of a living organism, a wild ivy that invades all parts of the house and turns into a bridge between art and design. This inspiration feeds on darkness.This installation was the result of an invitation issued by designer Houssein Jarouche, for an abandoned lot next to his showroom, Micasa. These lanterns were also used in the project of a nightclub called “Museum”. Later on, they acquired a life of their own by becoming a product, edited by Micasa, “Wall Lamps”.

Le système d’éclairage « Pipe Light » a été créé à l’image d’un organisme vivant, d’une herbe sauvage qui envahit toutes les parties de la maison et devient un pont entre l’art et le design. Cette inspiration se nourrit du noir.Cette installation est le résultat d’une invitation lancée par le designer Houssein Jarouche, sur un terrain abandonné à côté de son showroom Micasa. Ces lanternes ont également été utilisées dans le projet de discothèque « Museum ». Elles ont ensuite acquis une vie propre en devenant un produit, édité par Micasa: « Wall Lamps ».

This project was guided by Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s vision of tropical identity, which she defines as “something organic, intense, sensorial, vegetable, hectic, immature and out of control”.

Our approach is akin to the idea of global design: the apartment is conceived in its entirety, from the plans to the faucets. The first step was to clear the space completely, in order to work from a free plan and to take full advantage of the apartment’s potential. Next, we established a new hierarchy emphasizing the continuity of spaces and the dialogue among them. The centerpiece of the project is a great bookcase embracing the external stairs and elevator to form an entrance that gives the impression of penetrating a cave. It is present in every room, unifying the entire project

Ce projet a été guidé par la vision de Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster de l’identité tropicale, qu’elle définit comme « quelque chose d’organique, intense, sensoriel, végétal, trépidant, immature et hors de contrôle ».

Notre démarche s’assimile à l’idée de design global : l’appartement est conçu dans sa totalité, des plans jusqu’aux robinets. La première étape fut de vider complètement l’espace pour travailler à partir d’un plan libre et exploiter au mieux le potentiel de l’appartement. Ensuite, nous avons établi une nouvelle hiérarchie privilégiant la continuité des espaces et le dialogue entre eux. L’élément central du projet est une grande bibliothèque entourant la cage d’escalier et l’ascenseur pour former l’entrée, qui donne l’impression de pénétrer dans une caverne. Elle est présente dans chaque pièce afin d’unifier la totalité du projet.

This studio is built in the heart of an artists’ neighborhood in São Paulo. Located in a flood zone, its construction offered several challenges. The building is designed as a manufactured object, a living body in constant change; it breathes, sweats, ages and regenerates.

The water is the main element of this project: rain and ground water are treated and reused through a complex system whose low tech elements such as the pipes, pumps, automatic irrigation, etc., are highlighted, forming a sort of protective shell around the building. The heart of the project is thus exposed on its façade. The building appears to have been designed inside out. By contrast, the interior is sleek and minimalist.

Ce studio est construit au cœur d’un quartier d’artistes à São Paulo. Situé dans une zone inondable, sa construction a relevé plusieurs défis. Le bâtiment est conçu tel un objet manufacturé, un corps vivant en perpétuel changement ; il respire, transpire, vieillit et se régénère.

L’eau est l’élément principal de ce projet : la pluie et l’eau du sol sont traitées et réutilisées grâce à un système hydrique complexe dont les éléments « low tech » tels que les tuyaux, les seaux de pompage, l’arrosage automatique, etc., sont mis en évidence et forment une sorte d’enveloppe protectrice autour du bâtiment.Le cœur du projet est ainsi lisible en façade. L’immeuble semble avoir été conçu sur l’envers. Par contraste, l’intérieur est lisse et minimaliste.

The building is situated in “Jardins”, a São Paulo neighborhood undergoing radical change. Organic incarnation of a tropical city’s influences and aggressions – noise, insulation and heavy traffic – the project feeds on the energy of its surrounding context.
The front façade is dematerialized into a surface which reflects the flux of vehicles. This façade plays a double role of sun protection and transparency regulation: it opens the building to the street while maintaining a certain degree of privacy.Facing the city, the building reveals its inside with subtlety, through a sequence of filters connecting the interior with the exterior. Meanwhile, the translucent panels of the back façade create an intriguing visual game. A volume of concrete embedded in the façade facing the street completes this link, creating a physical union, a sort of portal between the urban space and the interior.

Le bâtiment est situé dans le quartier, en pleine transformation, de « Jardins » à São Paulo. Les villes tropicales, et notamment São Paulo, sont sujettes à de nombreuses agressions - bruit ensoleillement et circulation intense. Le projet se nourrit de cette énergie et de ce contexte pour devenir une réponse organique à ces agressions.
La façade, dématérialisée,est constituée d’une paroi qui reflète la circulation des voitures. Elle joue le double rôle de protection solaire et de régulation de la transparence : ouverture et maintien d’un certain degré d’intimité.
Le bâtiment, tourné vers la ville, révèle son intérieur à travers une séquence de filtres faisant la liaison entre les espaces intérieurs et extérieurs. Quant aux panneaux translucides de la façade arrière, ils créent un jeu visuel intrigant. Un volume de béton encastré dans la façade donnant sur la rue complète cette liaison, créant une union physique, sorte de portique, entre l’espace urbain et l’intérieur.
